Wisconsin-based Team Sports Events Inc. to bring Chevy Trucks National
Championship Series Mountain Bike Event to Milwaukee Area

World Champion and Olympic Racers Come to Wisconsin June 13-16, 2002

WAUKESHA, Wis. (May 29, 2002) – For the first time in Wisconsin state
history, Wisconsin-based, Team Sports Events Inc. and Alpine Valley
Resort, near Lake Geneva, Wis. will host a national championship level,
professional and amateur mountain bike event on June 13-16, 2002.

The event, round two of the Chevy Trucks National Off-Road Bicycling
Association’s (NORBA) National Championship Mountain Bike Series,
will bring world-class mountain bike racers into southeastern Wisconsin
for four days. Professional and amateur events will include cross-
country, short track, dual slalom, trials and downhill. The event will
also feature a competitive five-mile cross-country trail running race
– The Cheddar Challenge on Sunday (11:00 a.m.). With events for
riders of all levels, promoters expect to draw upwards of 2,500
athletes and 15,000 spectators.

The exciting thing about this event for Wisconsin and the WORS Series
participants is that if they have raced in a WORS event, they will be
able to be very competitve in this NORBA race when it comes to town.
The WORS series is made up of such a great group of people and riders,
that they can make a huge impact on this event and show the country
what Wisconsin and the country's largest mountain bike series is all
about.

“Bringing this Chevy Trucks NORBA National Championship Mountain Bike
Series event to Wisconsin is a great way to showcase the great cycling
and festivals our state has to offer the country and world,” said Tom
Schuler, president of Team Sports, the parent company of Team Sports
Events. “This event will bring in some very exciting racing and
festival activities that can be enjoyed by the entire family with or
without a bike.”

The Alpine Valley National Championship Series event will feature
events and activities for everyone in the family. There will be
treasure hunts, fun rides, a petting zoo, a trail running race, face
painting, popcorn, concerts, exhibitor and tech exhibits from the
bicycle industry and many other merchants. Many other activities are
in the works.

One major event that will be taking place is the Smooth as Liquid
Saturday Night Concert hosted by Trek Bicycles. The music will start
at 6:00 p.m. following the pro mountain cross events and will include
Mud Ride, The Lovelies (Ed. note - The Lovelies ROCK!), Box-o-Car and
Ward, the band lead by Grammy Award winner and former lead guitarist
for the Wallflowers - Michael Ward.

“Receiving the bid to promote this top-notch event is very exciting
for Team Sports Events, Alpine Valley Resort, the Midwest and
Wisconsin,” said Kevin Eccles, event director. “The Chevy Trucks
Nationals at Alpine Valley will give Wisconsin’s athletes, companies
and vacation destinations a chance to show what they have to offer to a
national and international audience.”

“Going to the Midwest and especially Wisconsin is something that we
have felt, as a top-level race series is very important,” said Rick
Sutton, Chevy Trucks NORBA National Championship Mountain Bike Series
director. “Wisconsin and the Midwest is home to one of the largest
mountain bike racer populations in the country and it helps make the
NCS truly, a nationwide series, with races in every region.”

Wisconsin is home to the largest mountain bike series in the country,
the Wisconsin Off-Road Series (WORS), which attracts nearly 1,000
racers during each stop on its 11-event schedule from May to October.
Team Sports Events promoted a warm-up event to the NCS, Round one of
the WORS Series at Alpine Valley, which drew nearly 1,300 athletes to
the one-day cross-country event on May 5, 2002.
