prohibiting cyclists from riding more than 2 abreast on any public
street--unless permitted by a City-approved event??? I'm appalled.
As long as cyclists take up no more than one lane of traffic, then
cyclists should have the same rights as cars. However, rules of the
road were established with the multi-ton metal vehicle in mind
therefore, not all rules that apply to automobiles should be applied
to cyclists in the same fashion.

The city of Pasadena is really going to be unhappy when the pacelines
of hundreds of cyclists stretch for miles taking up a whole traffic
lane at two abreast. And don't forget that the law says vehicles must
pass slower vehicles to the left so if there already two slower
cyclists in the right lane the faster riders will have to take the
left lane to pass.
