Thx, Jon. The info is very timely. I was planning a ride for this weekend. Any info south of the Dam on the LA-Rio side? Several months ago I ran into some closures and cut back over to SGR for the ride home (Long Beach).

Less than a month ago i rode down the Rio Hondo and there was a closure right before it crosses Rosemead. It kicks you out on to streets that are under construction and really dangerous for biking. There are no detour signs so if you don't know the area you can get lost, i rode down Rosemead to Whittier Narrows and got back on the San Gabriel River. Next time I am going to ride the San Gabriel all the way to avoid it.
