It would be nice if everyone did, but a lot of people don't.

Also, I think that sometimes people that shout it can sound arrogant,
but it's still better to err on the side of safety and warning.

Congrats on your achievement!

Where did you start to make it 13 miles one way? I think it's 28 from
end to end, so a whole trip would be 56...

Hello,
I took my first trip on the santa ana river trail yesterday,
saturday. I really enjoyed it. I do have a question. I'm new and
slow, that is an understatment.. for the most part I stay to the right,
but I thought that If you overtook someone you were supose to say 'ON
the left " I rode all 26 miles, 13 up and 13 back(today my legs are
hating me : ). and only heard it 4 times.. are there times when you are
not suppose to say it ??

It is a great trail for all levels of riders. I ride it weekly. Do a google search for "Santa Ana River Trial" and it comes up. I just don't have the link...

There are some good maps including downloadable versions at http://www.octa.net/bikeways.asp I recommend driving to the Cal Trans Lot on Katella just 1/4 mile...

when I lived in Chicago, most everyone used "On Your Left" or something to tell someone they are passing. Since moving here, I rarely hear it, but I do notice...
