A weblink for I have used for planning bicycle commute routes is:
www.bikemetro.com.
This site works similarly to mapquest by allowing you to enter your
start point and end point but it is designed for bicyclists; it allows
you to enter your tolerances for hills and traffic and the site can
include class 1 bike paths as part of the travel plan it creates
(depending on your tolerance selections).
The site also gives you an altitude graph and calculates calories
consumed, fuel saved, etc. And it is customizable to your personal
specifications.
Hope this helps you with your route planning.
