Thats a good ambitious ride, from my understanding,
you can maybe pick up the san gabrial river trail down
from duarte just below Passadena, take that down to
Long Beach and take their trail south, you will have
to to some street riding, but not much, between long
beach and Huntington beach. From there you can pick up
the bike path all the way to Newport. From there a
little more street riding on PCH to the back bay trail
which will take you all the way to Irvine, it passes
next to UCI. I tend to get on at Von Karmen and
Michelson.
