Children under age 9 are encouraged to be on a tag-a-long, bike trailer, tandem, or other safe child-carrying device.  Bring plenty of water and a snack too and some money just in case we stop to get a bite to eat during our rides.   Most of all bring your Good Attitude and be prepared to meet some GREAT People during a FUN Ride thru the streets of LA!   MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THESE UPCOMING RIDES   SATURDAY MAY 2nd – *** We RIDE at 10am We will pedal to Belvedere Park in East Los Angeles where we will meet up with some friends who have ridden with us in the past and work with kids the group is called “We R All In This Together”  Both groups will then ride to the Salesian Boys and Girls Club in Boyle Heights and stop at the “Mile High Youth Spring Into Summer Youth Festival /Fair” We will make a brief stop then continue our ride to TONY’s Subs and Salads to have lunch.  We have coupons for regular sandwich, drink and a side salad for $5.99 + tax       EASTSIDE BIKE CLUB MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE IN BIKE TO WORK WEEK BEGINNING MAY 11th THRU 16TH   MONDAY MAY 11th  ***We RIDE at 7:30AM EASTSIDE BIKE CLUB will lead a ride to Olvera Street to meet LA City Officials and the SIMPSONS characters to as they arrive in a Metro Bus to tune up their bikes and kick off Bike to Work Week.  We will stop for breakfast after the ride.     TUESDAY MAY 12th   6TH ANNUAL BLESSING OF THE BIKES *** We RIDE at 7:00AM The Good Samaritan Hospital will host the Blessing of the Bikes in a non-denominational ceremony at 8 a.m. at their downtown facilities.  We will have Breakfast after the Ceremony. DON’T FORGET OUR USUAL TUESDAY NIGHT RIDE AT 7PM   WEDNESDAY MAY 13th  *** We RIDE at 7AM Metro and LACBC will lead a Downtown Bike Ride beginning at 8 a.m. at the Civic Center Metro Rail Station to LA City Hall.   THURSDAY May 14th Metro and other municipal transit agencies will offer free rides to bicyclists who use public transit.  Bring a bike or bike helmet and ride free.  Also, Metro is coordinating bike pit stop locations for bicyclists to stop by and obtain free giveaways. For pit stop locations, go to www.metro.net/biketowork.
