L.A. / Rio Hondo - San Gabriel Closures / Detours?   Message List

Re: [bikepaths] Re: L.A. / Rio Hondo - San Gabriel Closures / Detours? (and Safty?)

I ride the Ballona Creek path regularly, alone as well, and I've always felt
safe on it. (Duquesne/Jefferson entrance to/from the Marina bridge). Only
recently (after the incident reports from ages ago -- read: years ago) did I
hear about some folks having a bad experience coming across hoodlums and other
folks with too much time on their hands. But I've never experienced this
myself. This past weekend, there were so many folks out with their tri bikes,
who I think are getting ready for LA Triathlon coming up this weekend (9/9/07).

Best,

Don't be paranoid but use common sense. Is it better to ride in a low crime area than a high one if you have a choice? Yep. If those little gangsters...
