I rode there yesterday... I just moved to the LA area (Pasadena) and
it was my first ride of any distance since getting here (I went from
the north end of Rio Hondo trail, to San Gabriel trail, which I took
south till about mile marker 10, then turned around and took San
Gabriel trail up past the Santa Fe Dam)
Anyway, it looks like it is scheduled to be closed until April. I got
directions from a pedestrian who told me to take Rosemead to the first
light, and turn right (on Garvey), then take a left at the first light
(Lee). Follow Lee all the way to the end, and take a right (Rush) and
that goes back to the path, right after the closure ends...
After getting home I was doing some reading online (which eventually
led me to joining this group...) and I was shocked to see that the
area I biked through was listed as dangerous on
http://www.nearfield.com/~dan/sports/bike/notes/hazards/index.htm.
Is this info up to date? How dangerous are we talking about (is it OK
if you ride with someone, and only on weekends during the day...?)

P.S. Is there any kind of resource for people to figure out what
area's are safe in general? I am having a hard enough time figuring
out how to get around here, let alone worry about what area's are gang
territory...
