David Holmes Memorial Brevet

As you are all aware, David Holmes, the director of Iowa Ultra Events, was
killed in a traffic accident while out cycling in July 2004. Dave was a
tireless volunteer for the sport of ultra-marathon cycling, as a RBA for
International Randonneurs and later for Randonneurs USA, and as the
organizer of the UMCA 24-hour championship. We (Cedar Valley Cyclists &
Robert Fry) are organizing this brevet to give all of us in the cycling
community who knew Dave, either personally or by reputation, the
opportunity to pay our respects to him in a way that I am sure he would
have appreciated.

The David Holmes Memorial 200km brevet will be held May 7 2005, starting
08:00 at the Quality Inn, 1000 E. Iowa St., Eldridge, IA.
