The championship fields are set in the
EIVA, MIVA and MPSF heading into the last weekend of conference
action. The three leagues will hold their semifinal matches on
Thursday, April 27 and the finals on Saturday, April 29. The 2006
Men's Volleyball National Collegiate Championship will be held on the
campus of Penn State University on Thursday and Saturday, May 4 &
6. The winners of each of the three conference championships and one
at-large team decided by the NCAA committee will comprise the four
teams in the hunt for the national title at Rec Hall

Semifinal Matches: Previous Meetings This Season
* St. Francis vs. George Mason
George Mason has claimed all three meetings between the squads this year. The Patriots swept the Red Flash on Jan. 28 (30-20, 32-30, 30-24) and on March 23 (30-22, 30-25, 34-32) before needing four games to win on April 1 (39-37, 22-30, 30-27, 30-26).
* Rutgers-Newark vs. Penn State
Penn State has taken both contests this year between the two teams. The Nittany Lions won in four games at home on Feb. 24 (30-15, 30-23, 28-30, 30-17) and also came out on top in four in Newark, N.J., on March 31 (28-30, 30-27, 30-25, 30-26).

* Ball State vs. IPFW
IPFW has claimed both of the meetings this year. On Feb. 17, the Mastodons won in four games (30-20, 35-33, 28-30, 30-24) in Ft. Wayne, Ind., before also taking the match in Muncie, Ind., on March 18 in four games (30-20, 30-26, 27-30, 30-25).
* Ohio State vs. Loyola-Chicago
Loyola-Chicago has won both of the matchups this season. The Ramblers claimed a three-game victory (30-23, 30-22, 30-23) on Feb. 18 in Chicago before also sweeping the Buckeyes (30-25, 30-22, 33-31) in Columbus, Ohio, on March 31.

Pepperdine has claimed both meetings between the two schools this season. The Waves swept the Bruins in three games (30-28, 30-28, 30-22) on March 1 in Los Angeles and also took the March 16 match in four games (30-21, 31-29, 26-30, 30-25) in Malibu, Calif.
* Long Beach State vs. UC Irvine
UC Irvine won each of the previous meetings this year. The Anteaters took the Feb. 24 contest in four games (26-30, 30-27, 32-30, 30-26) and also won the April 1 match in four games (28-30, 30-21, 34-32, 30-26) in Irvine, Calif.
