Penn State
Women's Volleyball To Have Four Matches On National
Television
Three contests will
be shown live on CSTV with another broadcast on ESPN2
University Park, Pa., August 12, 2005 - Fans around the country will be able to watch the Penn State women's volleyball team at least four times throughout the season as three matches will be televised live by College Sports Television (CSTV) and another contest will be aired on a tape-delay basis by ESPN2. Regional and local television schedules are pending.
CSTV will broadcast all four matches at the AVCA/NACWAA College Volleyball Showcase in Omaha, Neb., on Aug. 26-27. The Nittany Lions' season-opening contest against defending national champion Stanford on Aug. 26 will begin live at 7:00 p.m. ET with the match the following night against either Nebraska or Hawaii airing at 6:00 p.m. or 8:30 p.m. ET. CSTV's coverage also features a special Wednesday night AVCA Rivalry Match of the Week when Ohio State visits Happy Valley on Nov. 2 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
ESPN2 will broadcast the Michigan at Penn State match to be played on Friday, Oct. 14 at 7:00 p.m. The telecast will be on a tape-delay basis, airing on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 1:00 p.m. ET.
CSTV (www.cstv.com) will again provide GameTracker live scores and statistics for every Penn State volleyball home match. Features on the volleyball team can also be seen on Penn State Primetime several times a month, with a new show debuting on a Sunday night at the beginning of the month on CSTV. Check local listings for air dates.
Penn State returns five starters from last season's 29-3 Big Ten Champion squad that advanced to the NCAA Regional Semifinal match, including first team AVCA All-American senior setter Sam Tortorello (Shorewood, Ill.), first team All-Big Ten senior libero Kaleena Walters (Mt. Lebanon, Pa.) and 2004 Big Ten Freshman of the Year outside hitter Kate Price (Fraser, Mich.).
