As you can see from the min's of the last meeting the Jersey printers
have said they will get us the jerseys in time for Bristol in return
for a favour (say, distributing leaflets to the other teams etc.) - to
cover the extra cost of the delivery.
Now I can see a few problems with this namely
a) How do we define how much effort to put in to help them out
and
b) I've got to sort it out :-)
Sooooo, having clocked that the club is cash rich I propose another
option that we just pay them the extra delivery cost of £88.13 to
remove us from any obligation and all be home in time for tea and medals.
Your thoughts please peeps - I'm either after
a) Give 'em some extra cash and everyone's happy
or
b) Yes please, I'd like to help out at Bristol giving out leaflets and
posing for group photo's in my new club kit...

Thank you folks, I think we've got enough volunteers to do the
publicity side (at least Janet and Ian) and we'll go ahead as
agreed...

C. they may deliver them on time anyway they could just be trying it on !
D. Meet them half way - have some photos done - only take 5 mins - and forget
about the
leaflets.

B for me Andrew – I don’t
think it would be very sportmanlike to turn around and say thanks for the quick
delivery but don’t like the leaflet and photo thing.
Changing around the production to fit in
our order would have been hard and someone elses order would have suffered.
I personally would still like to see
everyone racing in their fancy new tops at BBF.
Cheers
Janet

Just to let you guys know what's happening; I had an email from the
Jersey peeps asking what we were going to offer in return for the
extra cost for the 24hr delivery.
(Bit of background - normally delivery costs £25 and takes up to a
week, because of the tight schedule in manufacture they are going to
have to use a 24hr courier costing £100 to get us the jerseys in time
for Bristol).
I said we can:
* Go around the campsite and distribute leaflets to the various clubs
* Leaflet communal areas such as the food tent
* Display a banner (if you have one) in our 'race village'
* Provide you with group photo's of the teams in their new kit
(perhaps
borrowing the podium)

Are they providing all promotional material (leaflets, banners,
samples etc), or are they expecting us to cough up and set this up
for them?
And £100 for a next day courier!? who are they kidding. DHL would
only cost about £25

Better be supplied by them otherwise not much is happening :-)
One week delivery for £25 is pretty far fetched as it is; all
companies pad their postage something chronic - although on-line
retailers of specs are 100% honest and trustworthy ;-)

they won't be asking us to produce their advertising for sure, anyone worth anything wants to know what represents them is up to scratch and seeing as they are in the printing biz, I imagine they do it all in-house anyway.
so long as we keep our end of the bargain and get them some publicity, can't see any probs. bit of a deal actually as you tend to wonder around the trade stands anyway.
now where's my flyer design... anyone fancy putting my..........lol
