We are writing to let you know that Big Crank Cycling recently received an opportunity to help make a family's Christmas wishes come true! 

The parents of this family have recently divorced and the mother and 3 children have moved about an hour away from St. Louis to start fresh.  The children are a 15 year old (boy), 12 year old (boy) and 9 year old (girl).  The 12 year old has recently undergone a heart transplant and was cared for by one of our club members.  The increasing medical costs for the 12 year old's care has made their already strained financial picture even more difficult.  While writing up their Christmas wish list, all 3 of the kids wished for a bicycle but there is just no way the mother can afford to buy them.  We decided then and there to buy the bicycles as well as helmets for each of the children, and give it to the family so the kids will awake on Christmas morning to the magic of new bikes! 

Big Crank Cycling will be purchasing the bikes and helmets and giving them to the family, and in the spirit of giving and all the beauty it creates in the world, we thought that you might like to contribute to this opportunity as well.  We are estimating the cost to be about $400-500 for the bikes and helmets.  If you would like to contribute and be a part of giving these children their very own bicycles, all you need do is send an e-mail to David at DRidgeway@..., by Wednesday, December 18th and let us know how much you'd like to contribute, and then drop your check in the mail, payable to Big Crank Cycling, 4969 Oleatha Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63139.  We will use your contribution to help us offset the club expense for the purchase. And just to keep the circle of giving going, and as a thank you for your generosity, Don and I will give to each one of you that makes a donation, a copy of the 2007 Big Crank Cycling Year in Review DVD shown at this years annual banquet.  

It is our wish for each of you that you find the peace and beauty of this season of light, this season of giving, and that you and yours enjoy the magic that is made this time of year!
