Just put a 1973 472 in a 1947 International pickup. It runs great, but when it
is
first started, about the first one or two turns when it first fires , there is a
knock coming from low in the front of the engine. We replaced the timing chain
and gears before installing the engine. Could it be from the fuel pump arm?
The
second it starts the knock is gone. The car it came out of had 90,000 miles on
it, and no sludge in the pan. Thanks Brian
