To Moderators,
Can you post this as many people do not understand
how "GROUPLY" is affecting yahoo group members.


I hope you don't mind this "grouply" warning as
a lot of people do not understand why it is a problem.

This explains it and all moderators of
yahoo groups need to know this.

WARNING about "GROUPLY"

You may have heard of "grouply" and think that it is
a beneficial site and market tool to manage messages.
Grouply is a SPAM site period.
In spite of any benefits it may have,
it is sending out spam regularly.
I have never been to "grouply" but get spam from it regularly.
They usually have a subject line something like this:
"John_Smith wants to add you as a friend"


Many people have gone to groupy and signed in once
and never gone back.
Once a person does this just once, grouply starts
sending out emails that appear to be from that person,
but are automatically generated by grouply.


After getting several of these messages,
I began to wonder if these people actually
did write them or know that they were being sent.
I discovered that most if not all of these people
have no clue that grouply is doing this.
Although grouply keeps their emails to a minimum, they are
sent out regularly to anyone who has not joined grouply.


This is untoleratable spam , as you can imagine what
it will be like when more then a hundred of
these type of sites are set up and sending spam.


They say that you can just respond, saying that you
do not wish to receive more of these emails.
I do not trust any spam site to respond to them,
and people are regularly encouraged to NOT respond
to a spam site, as it indicates to them that
you have an active email address.


IF YOU have ever made a successful login at grouply to
take a look at it, grouply is now sending out emails to
other people making it appear to be sent from you.
You are now the lucky one, as you will now not get spam
from "grouply" AND most likely not even know that
grouply is sending out spam appearing to be from you.


This is what they put at the bottom of such emails,
which is usually if not always not true.
"This message was sent to you by a fellow group member who
uses Grouply instead of email to access your shared group"
