Re: [bicyclingadvocacy] dry feet

The ones that I have are similar to these:

http://www.lakecycling.com/Products/CXZ302__CXZ302.aspx

They are insulated with thinsulite, and are pretty good at keeping your toes
from freezing.  My feet still get cold at temps approaching 0F, but they
probably would in any temp.

I use SPD pedals, and the boots are set up to hold the cleats.  There are a pair
of studs on the toes which would make it harder to get into clips, but they are
removable (mine are worn down to the point of being inconsequential).

I think that you can buy them online, although I got mine at a bike shop in
Belmont, MA (wheelworks).  Wheelworks is bigger than the average bike shop and
carry a pretty wide inventory, so if you are in outer Slobovia, your LBS may not
be as well equipped.

I commute year round, and live in Maine so we do get a bit of cold.

Wear my normal summer shoes for temps down to about 35F, and then switch to a

pair of Lake Winter cycling boots.  The winter boots are 1 size larger than my

summer shoes, so that I can wear heavy wool hiking socks with them.  Keeps my

feet warm down to about 0F.  Below 0F I don't ride (intentionally) .
