CONCERNED GREENSBORO RESIDENTS TO HOLD RALLY AS PART OF NATIONWIDE CALL TO
ACTION ON GLOBAL WARMING
WHAT: Greensboro residents concerned about the catastrophic effects of
global warming will hold a rally Saturday April 14th to urge Congress to
put America on the path towards reducing carbon emissions 80% by 2050. The
event is part of the Step it Up campaign, the largest day of citizen action
focusing on global warming in our nation’s history. Over 2,000 people are
expected to attend the event, which is being co-sponsored by the Deep Roots
Market, Sierra Club, and Forever Green. The event will feature environmental
games, entertainment, and activities of all kinds.
WHERE: In conjunction with the Kathleen Clay Edwards Environmental
Library’s Earth Day Celebration.
WHEN: The event will begin at 1pm with an opening address by Mayor
Keith Holiday. The creation of the STEP IT UP banner will take place at the Deep
Roots Table from 1-3pm and a photo shoot will follow at 3:30pm.
