This meeting will be another good opportunity for BIG members to voice
their support for including bicycle accommodations in a major roadway
project. Please attend if you are able!
The Greensboro Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) on
behalf of the City of Greensboro and in cooperation with NCDOT will be
conducting a Citizen's Informational Workshop on Monday, November 13th
from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Reedy Fork Community Center located at
4302 Reedy Fork Parkway. The workshop is the first of two to be held
in coordination with the study.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate options for reconstructing the
interchange at US 29 and Reedy Fork Parkway. The study will also look
at making improvements to portions of Summit Avenue and Reedy Fork
Parkway. Public input will assist officials in choosing a feasible
option.
Improvements are being proposed to meet the following needs: 1) replace
existing deficient bridge, 2) improve existing interchange to meet
interstate standards for future I-785 and 3) increase traffic capacity
to meet future travel demand. The completion of the study will prepare
the project for construction once funding becomes available.
