Hello Cyclists,

In consideration of the rainy weather today, Elliott & I have decided to cancel tonight's Ace Speed Away race. It's been raining here since this morning & looks like it will continue through the afternoon. It may stop before 6, but it will still be wet. We considered applying for another extension to the USAC permit & adding a race on Sept 23, but decided against it for several reasons.

We would like to thank everyone who came out to race & support the 17th year of racing around the oval at Ace Speedway. It was a good year with nice weather on most of the 10 Tuesday evenings. Ace Speedway was complemented again for its nice facility. And by all indications, everyone had hassle-free fun.

The 2008 season was exciting not only with each day's races, but also with the series competition. All who finished a race were placed, with the top 10 earning 10 - 1 points & everyone else earning 0.5 point. The best performers & more frequent competitors moved to the top of the ranks. Several racers also used their performance & experience at Ace throughout the summer to help them upgrade to higher categories. Congratulations to all!

The top 15 finishers in the A, B, & C race series are listed below with their accumulated points. Prizes (A - 5 & B - 4) & trophies (C - 3) will be awarded. If you are among these, please contact me directly. If you are not listed & want to know, contact me for your place.

Good luck to everyone with your racing for the rest of 2008, whether road, off-road, or cyclo-cross. We look forward to another year of Speed Away racing at Ace in 2009.
