Man oh man, are we lucky to have some well organized and fun rides coming up in the month of May! (National Bike to Work Month too!)

The first to deserve our big attention is the wonderful, 9th Annual (!)
TOUR De LIONS
Saturday, May 17th
This benefit ride starts at the

Grays Chapel United Methodist Church
,
just a few clicks south of Greensboro, towards Asheboro. Map here

The roads are less trafficked and beautiful, the food and door prizes are bountiful, the support is "everywhere" and the whole event just has a wonderful down-home flavor that can't be beat!
The entry fee is very modest and this ride should be on your "do not miss" list!

See all this, pics of past years and entry info here:

On a more somber note, we urge you to join us for Greensboro's
Ride Of Silence

Wednesday evening, 5:30 PM, May 21st
  • To HONOR those who have been injured or killed
  • To RAISE AWARENESS that we are here
  • To ask that we all SHARE THE ROAD
This free ride is organized by BIG, lead by Greensboro Police and will cover a ridden-in-silence loop of approx 8 miles, starting at theDowntown Center City Park, Greensboro, NC

The next cycling event that must attract your participation is the really different and fun,

GEARS & CHEERS BIKE RIDE
The only ride where 'wining' is allowed!
Saturday, May 31st

This relatively new affair takes place at the Grove Winery, near Gibsonville. http://tinyurl.com/4knxu3
As you know, North Carolina is becoming famous for it's wine and the Groive is one of those exciting makers of wines enjoyed around the world.
This event includes rides of
25 and 40 miles and a very nice post ride celebration of live music, meal, courtesy wine glass and beverage!

Again, the entry fee is low and it all goes to the Nat MS Society! Don't miss this one!
