The MPO is hosting this workshop
as part of its efforts to update the 2035 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) and the 2009-2015 Metropolitan
Transportation Improvement Program (MTIP).
The LRTP is the official vision for the area¡Çs highway, public
transportation, freight, bicycle, and pedestrian projects. It outlines
transportation improvements through the year 2035. The MTIP is the official
funding schedule for the near term, with details through 2015.
Those unable to attend the workshop can still
provide their comments regarding transportation. Find more information and
submit comments online at www.greensboro-nc.gov/LRTP. We
also accept comments by phone, fax, or mail at the contact information above.
Comments are due February 22 in order to provide staff an opportunity to incorporate
them into draft documents.
Anyone in need of special services may call
373-4368 one week in advance of the workshop.
When the draft LRTP and MTIP documents are
complete this spring, the MPO will hold another meeting for the public to
review the draft planning documents before adoption.
