I've got a bottom-rung Specialized Sirrus (2005/6 I think) that's
unfortunately a little small for me (one frame size up would have
been better) so I added an extended seat post and some bar ends. It's
basically a standard set up with a bunch of commuting accessories
like a Topeak rack and bag. It came with slicks which are great, and
I've got a slightly knobbier set of tires for when it gets a little
muddy. I'm thinking about a second bike but have a while to pick one
out. I won't be buying anything else until the spring or next summer,
so I've got lots to think about. Folding bike that I can take on the
subways and trains? Better-fit road bike with braze-ons? Mountain
bike so I can head into the hills? So many choices, and each good in
its own way. I find I'm getting addicted to the speed, though, so a
road bike it may be.
