One thing to keep in mind is that you should check in with the U.S.
station before crossing the border. There is a rifle visual inspection
and a declaration form that they will complete for you that will make
your re-entry into the U.S. with the rifle alot smoother. When I
crossed a few years ago to participate in a biathlon event in B.C., I
called the U.S, station first to find this information out from a
Customs official, who fortunately and coincidentally was the same
official who helped me out when I arrived. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT that
you first enter the Border Station without your rifle and be prepared
for the Offcial to accompany you back to your vehicle to perform the
inspection (or carry it into the Station themselves to inspect). Good
