I have the German version of this book, and it is written more for a fan than a
competitor. Three better books for the athlete are
Biathlon by Art Stegen - about 30 years old and talks about classical ski style
and shooting center fire rifles, however much of the philosophy is relevant.
Out of print but occasionally available thru ebay, barnes and noble or Amazon
Biathlon by Villi Ninnima (not sure of the spelling) - written in the late 80's.
Out of print but occasionally available thru ebay, barnes and noble or Amazon.
The copies I have seen for sale are outrageously priced.
Vermont Army National Guard (VTANG) Biathlon Training (not sure that this is
the actual title) - This is available thru the USBA online store. It is the
most up to date and informative.
Good luck,
Nick G

Subject: Biathlon North America biathlon book
I'm trying to learn as much as possible about biathlon, but not finding alot of
information
about training and racing. I did come across a book written in German titled
"Biathlon, by
Klaus Nitzsche". I read in a few articles that mentioned the USBA had translated
this book
into English, but several inquiries to the USBA have gone unanswered. Has anyone
any
knowledge or a copy of this translated book and where it might be available?
Alternately,
how about some resources for learning more about biathlon training (mostly the
shooting
phase, I a decent skier already).
