I'm new to biathlon and have spent some time looking through the posts here
about
biathlon rifles. It appears there are 2 genuine biathlon rifles available, the
Anschutz 1827
and the Izhmash 7-4. Also there appears to be a few rifles that can be modified
for
biathlon use like the Anschutz 64r, Izhmash 7-2, Marlin, etc. Is this correct?

It also seems as the Anschutz 1827 is regarded as the best, but for an out of
shape,
middle-aged newbie like myself is just a bit to pricey. I'm leaning towrds the
Izhmash 7-4,
and was wondering what would be a good price for this model. Any additional
thoughts or
dealer listings most appreciated.
