Hi Nathan,
I can't speak for the World Cup level, but at the club level the races are
generally short enough that we can get along by hydrating well before the race,
and immediately after the race. It's all over pretty quickly and seconds count.
If you are taking time to stop for a drink, someone else is passing you! Only
the individual knows what his or her body needs, and I certainly would not
advocate going without liquid if you are on the course for a long time. The
World Cup level folks are across the finish line a lot sooner than any of us
club level racers.... and I've never seen one stopping for a drink during a race
on OLN. Anyone have information to the contrary?
I've seen you post on here before, Nathan. Were you able to find a group to
get you started in biathlon? What part of the country are you in?

Subject: Biathlon North America Hydration During Race?
I'm curious, during a race (at local club/state level and world cup
levels) do competitors hydrate? Do they carry water with them or is
it given to them on the course?
Thanks,
Nathan
