I'm fairly new to biathlon, and have not completely settled on a
favorite ammunition. I've used 2 different guns, and I've found that
I have to match the ammunition and the rifle. What works for some
guns won't necessarily work for others. I've tried Federal, Wolf,
CCI, and Eley. Federal Gold and Wolf were inconsistent, especially
under 20 degrees. CCI Green Tag seems to shoot okay, but for now I've
decided to use Eley Biathlon for practice and competition. I've heard
good things about Lapua, but haven't tried it yet. I'm not sure it
will make a difference for me right now.
