Hi Andrew,

Welcome to a great, fun sport. I don't know much about the programs and
clubs in your area, as I am in Washington State, but I do recall meeting some
National Guard guys from Indiana when we were at the first Nor Am race this
season in West Yellowstone. If you can find a National Guard office somewhere
near you, inquire as to who is doing biathlon. I know there are some, and they
were great guys, if not great skiers! Where in Indiana are you? Are there
cross country ski trails near you? Are you a runner? Most of us do summer
biathlon (running without rifle.... then come into the range, pull your rifle
off the rack and go to a shooting point) when there is no snow to ski on. There
are even some guys who don't ski that just do summer biathlon. Great fun.
