WBA Biathlon Race, June 11th   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #324 of 607 |
Hi Biathlon Friends,
(if you would prefer not to receive messages, just send me an email and I'll
remove you).

Just a reminder for the June 11th Race at the Seattle Police Athletic
Association range in Tukwila, WA. Race announcement and sign-up forms (PDF) are
here:

www.wabiathlon.org/schedules/2005summersched.htm
or directly at:
www.wabiathlon.org/pdfs/SBRace2-05.pdf

...Includes driving directions to the range.

There will be an expert 6 km PPSS Mass Start and also a Novice 3.5 km PS.
Cost is only $20. Jay Bender is Race Director for this one and, if you can help
out with officiating or have a significant other who's willing to pitch in and
join the fun, please send me an email ( jay@...). Mandatory racer's
meeting at 9:30 am, Zero will be at 9:45 am, and races starting at 11:00 am.
There will be a Rifle Safety Certification Clinic offered Friday evening, June
10th at the same location for any of you who are new to the sport. Full details
are in the race announcement. (We will have metal targets, as we did in
Machias).

As and added inducement to female competitors, Marie Garrett has donated a
special prize for the top woman in the expert class on June 11th..... a nice
technical fabric top! There will also be awards and prizes for other classes
given out immediately after the race results are compiled.

Folks from the Methow Valley are encouraged to drive down and join us, too.
The starting time should allow you to just make a long day of it if you don't
want to spend the night. C'mon guys... we all drive up to the Methow all the
time!

Results are up for the races last Sunday at Machias, WA. Check them out
here: www.wabiathlon.org/results/race-2005-5-29.xls . Once again, Dave Anana
proved too fast, even though I got lucky and out-shot him. The event added a
speed match and an accuracy match to the race, which combined to form an
aggregate score. Thanks to Jim Slyfield and Victor Woo for putting on a great
event.

Don't forget to add WBA Race dates July 9 and August 13 to your calendar,
too..... both at SPAA, Tukwila, WA.

Jay Bender
