Re: Biathlon North America WORLD CUP BIATHLON - LAKE PLACID FEB 26-   Message List

The biathlon site is on the right hand side of the road that goes to the
Mt. VanHo nordic ski area and Bobsled run. The access road is off Rt.73
before you get to Lake Placid (can't miss it). When I go up there I
usually stay at the Econo Lodge in Lake Placid (about 10 min. from Mt.
VanHo). The biathlon is one of the best deals around to see world class
competitors....its free! After you watch the daily event you can go up
the road to the ski area and enjoy the trails. Bring as many people as
you can, the organizers need a large showing of spectators to ensure
future events in this country....at the Senior Nat'l Biathlon last month
I don't think there were more than 20 spectators per day. Hope this is
the info you are looking for.
