Phil,
I normally use RWS Target ammo with my Izmash. Never had any problems with
accuracy (can easliy get a 1" group at 50 m) even down to 0 degrees F. But
when I skied in Canmore last February when it was 25F below zero, the
accuracy was less than poor, I didn't even hit the target with some of the
shots. The first few shots were fine then they would be 1-2 feet off!. I was
able to get hold of some other ammo which helped a lot. So, yes, wrong ammo
with the Izmash can cause severe inaccuracies in cold weather and RWS Target
is one
of those (when a russian coach saw my 'groupings', he laughed and said I
must have an Izmash....)
But it's really not that cold that often (here in Colorado), so I can afford
using the more expensive ammo when it does get cold.
