Variable aperture questions   Message List

Good day all,
I am seeking clarification and perhaps some advice.
Currently, when I am shooting in diminishing light
conditions the target often loses contrast with it's
background and turns grey. I read that this is caused
by a lack of sufficient light to the eye. If I have a
larger aperture then this does not happen. I was
wondering if variable aperture sights were legal in
competition. I was thinking about the Anschutz 9745
front aperture frontsight and a Anschutz 9781 iris
peepsight. Both allow you to change aperture size
without removing the insert. Does anyone have
experience with this? Opinions? Feedback? What do you
think? What other avenues should I explore?
Thanks for your time.
Steve
