Hi Shanea:
It sounds like you have a good base to start training with. I
am not sure what area of the country you live in, but the best source
of summer biathlon info is on the USBA web sight. The full summer
scedule is not posted yet. Find an event close to you, get there
early, take the saftey clinic, you have to have the card to compete.
As for shooting outdoor as compared to shooting indoor. Light
and wind direction play a large role in how you shoot. We do not use
optical sights, so there is always adjusting to do with your sights.
This gets easier with practice. Shooting at elevated heartrate is
the major challenge. If you have never done this you are in for a
different experience. Good or bad you can make that call.
