Michele and I are planning to do the High Sierra Fall Century this year in Mammoth.  The ride is held on Sept. 6 and travels across the Benton Crossing Highway.  We've ridden this road the past few years and really enjoy the scenery.

The century does travel on 395 but the highway has a very wide shoulder.  We rode it south along the June Lake loop this year.  The shorter rides, 30miles and 45 miles, are an out and back to the rest stops on the Benton Crossing Highway.

 

On-line registration is closed but they usually get only 600 riders with a permit for 1000, confirmed by the ride director. So you can register in Mammoth the day of or before.

 

There are a variety of other activities to enjoy on the way or while in the Mammoth area.
