Yesterday's ride was a lovely jaunt down the shady Minnehaha Parkway to Lakes
Harriet and Calhoun, in a breezy, sunny mid-70s of a summer day.  We traveled an
average of 13.5 mph or so, taking two hours to ride about 23 miles (with a nice
little break at Lake Calhoun).  We even saw a few other Bike Friday riders out
on their little wheels; folks I hadn't met before!

Next ride will be this month-- possibly a Friday-Friday-Friday (which is a
Friday evening ride on a Bike Friday to a TGI Friday's restaurant to eat
appetizers and socialize), or perhaps a weeknight ride on a Wednesday (June 17
or 24 are possible dates).

Interesting events coming up this summer include the Nature Valley Grand Prix, a
series of pro racing events on June 10-14 in the metro area and southeastern MN,
as well as the Tour de Tonka, an organized, supported bike ride of several
different lengths around Lake Minnetonka on August 1st.

you try one out.

Hello, everyone!

The weather is getting cooler-- I may have to stop riding to work in
my sandals!  However, that just means it is a beautiful time to get
out and ride in comfort.

How about riding together in the Minneapolis Bike Tour?  This will be
held on Sunday September 14th.

$35 for preregistering by early Sept, $42 for registering on the day
of the ride.

There are short and long routes, plus the tour starts at 7:30 and
goes till about 2:30 or 3 pm.

No problem.  Julie wants to go and the two of us could ride even if
no one else is available.  I just didn't want to miss a ride if one
had been planned.

Perhaps we could begin to plan the August ride?  Perhaps you could
pick the weekend depending on your 'on-call' schedule?

For tomorrow's (Sunday, July 27) ride I suggest that we meet at
Mississippi Market Coop at Selby & Dale, early afternoon.  It is only
2 blocks from my home and everyone could pick up something to eat, if
they didn't have their own eats already.

It's just a short trip down to the river and the ride along Summit is
very nice.  Hidden Falls park is just off the bike path along the
Mississippi.

Stalwart types can bike up Ramsey Hill (about a 45 degree grade) if
they want a challenge.

I apologize!  I've let July slid past me in a hum of warm summer days, and this coming up weekend happens to be the last weekend that we can call "July".

Diane would like to get out on a Bike Friday club ride sometime this weekend.  If you are available and would like to go, please respond!
