A message from Richard Harber richarber@....
Greetings!
Hope everyone is riding and enjoying themselves. I am again riding in the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure to raise money to support the fight against diabetes. In addition to riding, I've also taken on the challenge of being the chairperson for this event.
Diabetes:
* Affects the lives of over 200 million people worldwide
* Changes the lives of almost 21 million people in the United States
* Is the fifth (5th) deadliest disease in the United States
* Is one of the most common chronic diseases of childhood
I'll again be going the longest distance (76 miles) in the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure fund-raising event in Tulsa, OK on May 17, 2008. The Tour de Cure is a series of cycling events held in over 80 cities nationwide. The Tour is a ride, not a race. I have joined thousands of others to pedal in support of the Association's mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
I am asking you to help by supporting my fund-raising efforts with a donation. Your tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of the 20.8 million Americans who suffer from diabetes and the 40 million people in the United States with pre-diabetes.
It's fast and easy to support this great cause - you can make your donation online by simply clicking the link at the bottom of this message. If you want to do even more to help, please consider joining me in this great event. Our efforts will help set the pace in the fight against diabetes.
Any amount, great or small, helps in the fight against this deadly disease. I greatly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress.
