Advanced Bike for Life (Road II) Starting April 12th   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #28 of 35 |
The next Advanced Bike for Life (Road II) Course will be starting on
Saturday, April 12th. The course will run 4 consecutive Saturdays,
April 12th, 19th, 26th and May 3rd from 9:00am to noon. Just in time
for the May 16th Bike to Work Day! The classes are held in the
Clairemont area of San Diego (Just west of I-805 & Clairemont Mesa
Blvd.). Each class size will be limited to no more than 10
students. If you have been wanting to take Road II now is the time!

- What will you learn in Road II?
Road II will allow you to further practice and enhance the road
riding skills you learned in Road I. We'll review the basics and
augment your knowledge by further discussion in the class and
on-the-road practice of more challenging situations.

Road II will also increase your knowledge about basic bike
maintenance. You'll learn how to adjust your derailers and brakes
for smooth shifting and effective braking; how to replace brake pads,
brake & shifting cables and cable housings; how to clean drivetrain
components and assess their condition; and how to rebuild & adjust
all those pesky bearings.

In addition, we will cover many other assorted aspects of bicycling
that can lead to safer, more efficient and more enjoyable
cycling. Sessions include both classroom discussion and on-bike practice.

Successful completion of Road I is a requirement for taking this course.

- How much is this going to cost?
It's FREE! Normally Road II is $60, but due to a grant to the City
of San Diego, the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition (SDCBC) is
offering free classes. So take advantage of it now!

P.S. A word to my former students. You may wonder why you are
getting this email if you have already had both classes. I believe
that you, the graduates, are the best spokespersons there are for
these classes. I want you to know when they are being held so you
can tell your friends.

P.P.S. I don't want to be considered a spammer, so if you don't want
to hear any more about cycling courses just email me at
<kerryk@...> and I will take you off my list.
