Folks, here's what's in store for The WeekDay Cyclist's upcoming Thursday ride - for retired folk, or those on flex schedules ... I might put onmy retiree imposter hat and do this one! Contact Trudy http://www.weekdaycyclists.org to join this group. She's of course a BF owner (as well as a Seven owner). See her at http://www.bikefriday.com/gallery/trudyhutter
Tuesday's the group does laps of Central Park.
I tried to hook up with the 5BBC for their Palisades bike and hike on Sunday but somehow missed them by 9 mins at the start. Instead, I ran into Jeff Gilbert on his Air Friday so we hung out all day. Small and smaller world!

Dear Weekday Cyclists,
Even though our regular Thursday rides are officially from April through October, some of us like to ride all year long. Ann does not ride in the wintertime so I will be leading the winter rides. However, I will be taking some Thursdays off. The destination of the winter rides will always be a place to have lunch indoors. Usually at a restaurant. So do not bring your lunch on these rides unless you want to eat it out in the cold. You are also expected to bring your own bicycle lock (a light cable lock will do) and your own bicycle frame pump. Be sure to read the ride notice since the starting time and meeting place for the winter rides will usually not be at the Loeb Boathouse. Also, there won't be a Thursday ride if there is snow or ice on the ground, or if the temperature at 9 AM is below 20 degrees.
So for this coming Thursday's ride, November 8, we are going to The Wharf restaurant in Rockaway Park, Queens. We'll go there via Brooklyn and the Marine Bridge, ride along the Boardwalk of Jacob Riis Park, and return via the Cross Bay Bridge and Queensborough Bridge.
The ride is approx. 45 mostly flat miles.
MEET:
9:00 AM at the NE corner of First Avenue and East 60th Street (there's a Starbucks on the corner that will allow you to use their facilities - I suggest you use them since the next stop will be far away)
OR MEET at 9:40 AM at the entrance to the Manhattan Bridge, SW corner of Canal St. & Forsyth St.
NOTE: I plan to take Second Avenue down to the Manhattan Bridge and there might be lots of morning traffic. I'm used to it because that's the route I always take.
BRING:
Two spare inner tubes and a patch kit
A lock for your bicycle
A lock for your bicycle
