Do you know anything about
the LAB annual rally and whether it is something they
still do?

I have gone to the LAB rally twice (Sonoma, California, and the covered bridge country of Pennsylvania). it was terrific. well organized -- they have a local club plan many different rides at varying distances. we stayed on college campuses and had cycling related events and seminars in the evening -- as well as classes such as first aid, CPR, bike mechanics, etc.  they had really nice people, tons of cyclists and it was very reasonably priced. Not sure if they are still running it -- they used to run about three a year but I think that they may be down to one a year now. It was a very good time -- especially for cycle geeks (like me!).
