Here's David's suggestion for getting to Ed's start point:
Ed mentions taking the E or F train to the Union Turnpike station, which is a good distance intoQueens . I suggest taking the train out there rather than riding. We could meet up with other folks fromoutside a cafe called Metro Marche, Manhattan , in the Port Authority Bus Terminal, between 40th and 41st Streets. Early arrivers could grab a coffee and pastry in the nice (for its bus terminal location) cafe. There's a separate entrance to the cafe from 625 Eighth Avenue (which has a northbound bike lane). Entrance to the E train is a block away on Eighth Avenue . I'd call for a 9:00 round-up, and we'd head into the subway no later than 9:15. 42nd St
