Re: [bfclubny] Getting to the May 5 Queens Ride

Despite my living in NYC for 8 of the last 11 years, I've never attempted to take a bike on the subway....does the MTA allow this?

Here's David's suggestion for getting to Ed's start point:

Ed mentions taking the E or F train to the Union Turnpike station, which is a good distance into Queens.  I suggest taking the train out there rather than riding.  We could meet up with other folks from Manhattan outside a cafe called Metro Marche, 625 Eighth Avenue, in the Port Authority Bus Terminal, between 40th and 41st Streets.  Early arrivers could grab a coffee and pastry in the nice (for its bus terminal location) cafe.  There's a separate entrance to the cafe from Eighth Avenue (which has a northbound bike lane).  Entrance to the E train is a block away on 42nd St.  I'd call for a 9:00 round-up, and we'd head into the subway no later than 9:15.

Sound good everyone?
