=v= Lots of stuff going on this Saturday: Three folding bike
events by TIME'S UP! and a great party by Freewheels. (The
TIME'S UP! events usually happen in October, but they were
rained out last year.)

What: SMALL-WHEELED BIKE RACE
When: Saturday, May 20, 1 p.m.
Where: Bethesda Terrace, Central Park: 72nd Street Transverse
overlooking the fountain

Spin your little wheels! Free entry, prizes offered. 20-inch
wheels max. Spectators encouraged. After the race, a group
will ride down the greenway to the start of the Folds Up! ride.

What: FOLDS UP! RIDE

Where: West 23rd Street on the Hudson River Greenway

http://www.times-up.org/foldsup.php

This ride is for bicycles, skates, skateboards, scooters or
anything else that moves without polluting the air. (But all
types of bikes are welcome, as long as their riders are
folding-curious!) This 10-mile leisurely tour will take in
sights in Manhattan and Brooklyn while enjoying the benefits and
promoting the use of folding bikes. We'll roll together through
greenways, across bridges, and along city streets, trading tips
and tales of folding successes. End location: Stuyvesant Cove
Park, East 23rd Street at the East River, Manhattan.

What: FOLDS UP FESTIVAL
When: Saturday, May 20, 2 p.m.
Where: Stuyvesant Cove Park, East 23rd Street at the East River,
Manhattan.

Think you can't fit a(nother) bike into your apartment? Think
again! Learn about all different makes and models of folding
bikes, including New York's own Swift Folder as well as classic
folders, electric folders, porta-trike folding tricycles, and
more.

Test ride all kinds of makes and models, and enjoy refreshments
(courtesy of Swift Folder). We'll have demonstrations of folding
bikes and space for test rides. Here is a partial list of
Folding Bikes we will have at the festival: Brompton, Swift
Folder, Dahon, Strida, Moulton, Think, Bike Friday and more!
Peter Reich of Swift Folder (celebrating its 10th anniversary)
and other bike builders will discuss and demo various models at
this outdoor event. Questions are welcome.

What: REVOLOCITY: A BIKERS' BALL
When: Saturday May 20, starting at 9 p.m. - late
Where: Dick Shea's Dance Studios, 69 W. 14th St (@6th Ave)
$10 in advance; $12 at the door

Celebrate the strange and stalwart, the maligned and mass-ive,
the the odd and oft-oppressed! Celebrate the Bike, in all its
geared and fix-geared glory! Celebrate the community and culture
that evolves and revolves around it! Celebrate REVELOCITY!
FreeWheels fundraiser will include bands, DJ's, an art auction,
inventive installations, brass bands, bike-blended beverages,
and more that you have yet to imagine. Buy tickets at:
