Hi All,
Anyone interested in going to the Tour de l'Isle in Montreal at the
beginning of June? It lasts for a week but the big events are over
the June 4 - 6 weekend. I'm planning on training up Thurs. June 3
and probably coming back on the 7th. Friday the 4th there is a night
ride through the streets of Montreal that is a costume and "cyclist
as Christmas Tree"ride and Sunday all day is the main event. Amtrak
isn't taking bikes on the Montrealer anymore but that doesn't affect
us. Did it last year and it's lots of fun, more fun that Bike New
York (although I hatge to say it. There's also plenty of time to look
around Montreal. Basically it's: ride to Penn Station with a couple
of paniers, fold and train to Montreal, unfold and ride to a hotel.
The bike clubs are doing bus trips but being on a train is a lot more
comfortable than being in a bus for all those hours, and that's what
we got the bikes for anyway... Check it out here:
