Hike Mount Monadnock this Saturday, November 5th   Message List

First a synopsis of the Bike Friday ride on Saturday, October 29th.
We biked, dined, enjoy the fire and water display and it seemed
like we climbed Mount Monadnock. Thanks Bill for organizing
this wonderful event.
The magnificent view of the swans, camaraderie, and
splendid weather was well worth the rain we encountered
during the last five miles of the 28 mile bike adventure.
Did I mention the boy who called out as we passed
"Bat man you are my hero and Bat girl you too."
Hmmmmm, who could have these Bike Friday riders have been?
And Judie, thank goodness you put on your brakes in time to not set
off the explosives that was in the back pack of another rider.
Now that would have been an adventure.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm who could have been the rider with the
explosives and meat cleaver?
The rain had its positive and that was that it was a natural crowd
control which
made viewing and experiencing the fire/water display fairly easy.
It was the
hike back to the car that seemed like Mount Monadnock.
Snow covered ground was awaiting our arrival back in Massachusetts.
What an intriguing Bike Friday adventure.
Thanks again Bill. We all enjoyed your presence and was glad to
know your
Bike Friday had not become an unridable skeleton.
Hopefully this will become an annual event, so plan ahead and put
the last
Saturday of October/2006 on your calendar.
Now for the real Mount Monadnock climb.
It is planned to take place this Saturday, November 5th.
This is the hike that needed to be postponed on previous Saturdays
due to inclement weather. The foliage may be almost gone; but
long range weather forecast indicates it is a day to enjoy what
Mother Nature has to offer.
Plan to start the climb at 10:00 am. Lunch at the top.
Bring Lunch, and plenty of water.
Meet at my home in North Reading, if planning to car pool.
Plan to meet at 7:30 a.m. It is about a 90 minute drive and we will
stop
for coffee and pastry in Amherst, New Hampshire to get our carb
intake.
My cell phone will be on at 7:00 am.
Phone: 617-909-0611.
Web site details of the hike can be found at:
Annabelle.
Please let me know if planning to join in this adventure and if will
be at my
home or at the meeting location of Pack Mount Monadnock.
