Hi all,

The Aussie Rules Football League (AFL) is new to the Scrap Heap
Championship calendar in 2009. We had a trial league last year and it
was a lot of fun, even for those like me who didn't recognise any of
the player's names! This year we are expanding to two leagues of
sixteen teams, a 12-week regular season and then a 16-team playoff
bracket to decide an overall champion.

The league is based on Yahoo's Australian site so you can play with
the Yahoo ID you already have. It's free to play and a good chance to
get some Scrap Heap Championship points on the board.

A couple of things...

If you have been eliminated from Cut Golf, you can still play Pick
Once. There is no 'elimination' from this game. In fact, you can
start playing at any time during the year.

Also, this is one of them weird tourneys played on 14 different
courses, so there is no PM flight, meaning that the final tee time is
1:45pm EST.  If you want to enter for the week, you need to send in
your submission prior to your golfer's tee time (the tourney is just
fixin' to start), so don't delay.  Good luck.

This weeks Bob Hope Classic has five rounds. Play starts on Wednesday a
day earlier than ususal. Don't forget to set your Yahoo! lineups by
TONIGHT.

Cut Golf and Pick Once submissions are due tonight as well.

BESTballers Golf 2008 Season Wrap-up

The BESTballers' 10th Anniversary season is complete. It was another
fine season of good fun and great competition with Team Red leading
the way with several top honors.

BESTballers was lead by Red Group member Somebody Step on a Duck who
finished #12 in all of Yahoo!. 19thHoleHacker was right behind in the
13th spot. Marathon put in another great season finishing tops in the
Blue Group and dominates the Bb Tour with a career earnings of over
$21 million nearly $3 million ahead of second place. Schoonie Els and
Weed Whackers tied for top honors in the Black Group. Congratulations
guys…great year.

MickelsonManBreasts (my favorite team name) won three times on the Bb
Tour to claim top earnings on the Tour with nearly $4 million in the
bank. Ball State and Duke Fan took top Bb Tour average finish spot
(44th) as well as a tie with most top ten finishes (nine) along with
19thHoleHackers and golfguys. Chip N Putt, losing is not an option
and Marathon made the most cuts with 28 events in the money. Sand
Surfers edged out Fairway to Heaven to claim the Chuck's Challengers
Cup Championship.

The BESTBallers Cup Challenge and President's Cup were dominated by
Team Red. They jumped out with early leads in both matches and never
looked back. The RedBlueBlack game was back and forth all season with
Team Red once again coming out on top. All three teams finished in
the 70's in the close battle.

It took 10 weeks of play for Ho Smackers to claim the Cut Golf title.
Jim's Ballstrikers won Cut Golf revisited on a tiebreaker in 14th
week of play. Grip It and Rip It and Wicked Games finished tops in
the abbreviated Pick Once game. Way to pick `em guys.

We have negotiated our deal and have the prices and dates for the
Pahrump Golf Trip 2008.
Dates: October 15 - October 19
Saddle West Casino and Mountain Falls Golf Club, Pahrump, Nevada.
Double Occupancy room for 4 nights lodging, 3 dinner vouchers, 4
breakfast vouchers @ saddle west, 3 rounds of golf at Mountain
Falls, Banquet Dinner Saturday Night, Tee Prizes and Airport
Transportation from Las Vegas on October 15 and 19th, for the low
price of $375. Do the math - this is a great deal!
All of that in a single room for $475.
Dates again are October 15 thru October 19 – golf will be the 16th,
17th, and 18th.
We will have registration up on the website before too long. We can
work with you on alternative packages if you can't come for the
whole trip or you want to bring a non-golfer with you. You want to
arrange your air travel in and out of Las Vegas. We will have a van
rented to pick up people in Vegas or you can get a rental if you
choose.

Thanks for updating Pick Once, but you have me as a "NE" for the WCG-CA
Championship and I know for a fact that I picked Geoff Ogilvy for that
tournament. That's why I was wanting Pick Once updated so I could see
how far I moved up by picking him. Can you please double check your
entries? Thanks.

Is the Pick Once going to be updated some time soon? It's not been
done in a few weeks and I'm struggling to remember who I've picked.

One other question. Does the second bout of Cut Golf begin at week 20?

Sheet not updated yet for the week, but I want to remind you that you
still have time to choose from the field for the WCG-CA tourney.

This is one of those no-cut tourneys, so alls you gots to do to earn
some money is submit an entry, which should be welcome news to some of
you.  However, there is a small field this week, so while the first tee
time isn't for about 1-1/2 hours, the last one is just before 1pm EDT,
so don't delay too long.  Also, this is a decent chance to pick a
quality golfer that doesn't play on the PGA tour very often (Liang Wen-
chong, anyone?), so there's that.
