Dear Berkeley Table Tennis Club Members,

As time unfolds, no one has stepped forward to volunteer to become the President of BTTC. I am truly sorry there is not enough community interest to generate some strong volunteer leader to take over my position which I have held for 2 !/2 years( My original agreement was for one year.) Although it is good Jim Lindsay , Dave Sterner and Anthony Szumilo have agreed to  volunteer their time by running the weekly tournaments (we probably need one more volunteer) the executive branch is left to only Sam Lam our most honorable and reliable treasurer. We still need a President to take care  of matters concerning the city of Berkeley, be in charge and co-ordinate the running of the club and serve as the contact person from the internet, affiliates and other contacts. There are other small unspecified duties as well(i.e. updating the webpage, ordering equipment etc.) The President also offers direction and decisions on policy matters. At this point in time, Bunny Lee our head coach and trainer has expressed an interest in the position as President but I am hesitant in allowing this transition as Bunny has a definite conflict of interest in that he derives income from club activities. He, on the other hand, is very responsible, reliable and honest. He is also a very qualified person for the job. Since I’m dedicated to passing the torch to someone who will keep the club maintained and active I must now appoint Bunny Lee as Interim President. Someone, other than me needs to assume these obligations on January 1 2009 This will be considered a temporary position for two months whereby other members could make a bid to become president. If no one comes forward during this time then Bunny will become the full-time President. I strongly urge members to get involved to insure a well balanced infra structure of the club.

Best Holiday Wishes to you all,

My Best .. Mike Labins
