Dear Tabletenniser’s,

           On the night before the tourney in Sacramento we had light attendance of 52 players, still the top two divisions were quite competitive.

Heavily favored Mattias Eriksson visiting from Sweden, couldn’t stop Sylvan Guo on her way to overwhelming a tough Division One with her 5-0 match record.

Dave Hanson won Division two with his 5-0 match record And a monumental oops on my part…in evaluating a new player who seemed like an 1100 player

While he was cold, Ben Wiestermaier, turns out to be at least 1700, and some think he may rise to 2000.. Time will tell and needless to say his rating has been adjusted.

 

I need more help at the desk, calling the late-call line, collecting money, signing up registrants…rating and evaluating new players, answering questions and possibly setting up the tourney…..I did them all and didn’t have time to warm up and decided to not play. It’s too bad as I arrive at 5:45, also set-up, stay till 10, help close. Then go home, process the results and write this letter till midnight. I really need regular helpers as the sporadic ones are better than none but often end up leaving me as tonight. I would love some more help and perhaps someone to replace me and give me a break…I’m at the end my second year of a one-year volunteer stint..He- He…….:(

We do not need to hear your life story and why you are late, just a clear and understandable mention of your name or names. We get sometime 20-30 messages and it is way too time consuming to retrieve them all!  

At the end of the night, People MUST put away their table…it only take 3-4 minutes and it makes it easy to close up at the end of the night.

PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO ARRIVE EARLY! REGISTRATION CLOSES AT 6:50 SHARP! If you are planning to be late then call the Cell Phone Reservation Number:  (510) 587-3388 before 6:35 PM. If you call this latecomer's number, please make sure to pronounce your first AND last name clearly. For non-native English speakers it is recommended to repeat their full name at least twice. We do not guarantee spots in our Round Robin tournament to latecomers who only left undecipherable messages or people who misuse this line and do not show up to play. Please spread the word, IF YOU ARE LATE OR WE CANNOT UNDERSTAND YOUR LATE MESSAGE >> YOU WILL NOT PLAY THAT NIGHT!
