Dear Tabletenniser’s,
Hi all, We had an impressive 67 player turnout
on our first RR of 2007 including a very strong first and second division.
Avishy Schmidt defeated
Top division. Too many matches in the top division were
either not reported or more likely not played. I will try to avoid these seven
player draws as much as possible but in case of emergency I need to have the
option. In order to speed play in these seven player round robins from now on I
will take a couple of steps…1. No warm-up time, play must begin immediately 2. A responsible
player from the round robin will be designated to facilitate the speedy
replacement of the concluding matches.. This should help…I feel even on a
seven player RR (two tables) people should play at minimum four and probably
five matches. This week too many players only were able to play three….
Secondly I have an important
announcement regarding GLUING your paddles. Ophelia our very nice
Thirdly and lastly I wanted to
announce the BTTC T-shirts are ready for sale. They are $12 each and I have a
limited stock at present. I ordered thirty and half of them were gone
immediately. I can special order more but if you want yours now you must act
quickly.

CONGRATS!

We are getting better about the courtesy of other players, but
there still needs more reinforcing this idea as people forget….
Courtesy Reminder! Please do not
retrieve a ball from your game when it rolls to another table or walk
behind during another player’s active point play…this is
distracting causing one player a serious disadvantage.
People need to be vigilant about this as it happens
way too often….Just wait a few seconds for the point to be completed and
say “LET!” Thanks for your consideration!
Winning is fun,
but good sportsmanship is healthy!
Regards, Mike
