Has anyone tried to create a SWB bentech style without bending the main
tube at the headset? Would it be structurally sound instead to cut the
main tube there, miter on either side to the headset, and adjust the
angle out to the bottom bracket from there? This will be my first
attempt, and I'd like to build the SWB, but have told my wife I'll do
so as inexpensively as possible. I'd like to just buy the pre-bent
kit, but if I can figure out a better way I'll try that first.
